On the border of Drenthe and Overijssel lies the beautiful Reestdal valley with its sandy, well-drained soil. The soil here is rich in iron ore, making it ideal for growing grapes. At De Reestlandhoeve, we cultivate the land using natural fertilisers and minerals. And in the summer months, classical music can be heard throughout the vineyard. All these elements contribute to the best conditions for our grapes.
At our winery, people with a variety of care needs are given the opportunity to use their talents as supervised volunteers. This brings care for people and nature together in our pure wines.

We don’t just create an ideal environment for our vines and our guests. People with care needs are also part of the Reestlandhoeve.
Participants are given the opportunity to actively participate in the daily activities on the vineyard under professional supervision.
This allows them to remain part of our society.

A passionate family business
De Reestlandhoeve has been a family business for generations. Twenty years ago, John and Wilma Huisman made the switch from natural livestock farming to producing natural, high-quality Dutch wines.
We were convinced that it must be possible to make good Dutch wine. We have now more than proven this with the many national and international awards for our Reestlander wines.
