Adopt a Vine: The Reestlandhoeve expands vineyard and invests in conservation!
The Reestlandhoeve has a Care Farm in addition to a Wine Estate. People with different care needs participate within our company. We offer a special range of occupational and experiential day care and guidance. People who visit our Zorghoeve like to make themselves useful and/or are looking for a nice day-infillment, but need support in this. The people help us as “guided volunteers” for example in the vineyard, the vegetable garden, in the yard or in the Wijnbarn. They paint, make and eat soup, play games or go for a nice walk.
We offer a unique form of counseling and use the Social Approach. This means that we support people with a need for help in the changes they go through within their psychological and social well-being. This vision was developed by Prof. Mr. Dr. Anne-Mei The specifically for people with dementia. Within the Social Approach, she shows a different perspective on the lives of people with dementia than is usually the case. We draw this view more broadly. In fact, we believe that the Social Approach is applicable to basically all conditions.
What exactly does this mean to us? We tailor day care to personal interests. We are in constant dialogue with people and keep in close contact with the immediate environment. Personal interests can include the profession a person has had and (former) hobbies. But also activities that people are interested in but have not performed before. A good example of this is painting. Already several people have discovered with us that they enjoy painting. In this they are supported by Marja who is happy to pass on her passion to others.
Most people would like to contribute to the Wine Estate. They want to make themselves useful, to be meaningful and to establish and maintain social contacts. So we label the wine bottles together, replenish the wine stock together, prepare wine orders for shipment and cut vegetables from our own garden and cheese and sausage for the Farmers’ Shelves.
